ACTOR Morgan Freeman’s granddaughter, Edena Hines was stabbed to death on Sunday near her residence on West 162nd street in the Harlem section of New York.
A police spokesman, George Tsourovakas said the police received a call from 911 before 3a.m EDT and found Hines at the scene with multiple stab wounds. She was rushed to the hospital where she was pronounced dead.
Tsourovakas further stated that a 30-year-old man who was taken to the hospital is being placed in custody though his name, condition and relationship with the deceased has not been released. Investigation is being made on the stabbing incident.
According to Hines website, she was an actor, writer and acting instructor in New York.
Freeman said: “I want to acknowledge the tremendous out pouring of love and support my family has received regarding the tragic and senseless passing of my granddaughter. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.”
