A development expert, Dr Arin Oluwo, has called for adequate leadership training of Nigerian youths for the socio-economic growth of the country.
Speaking at the end of two weeks training programme for youtjs in Ikoyi-Obalende Local Council Development Area of Lagos State, Dr Oluwo emphasized that there was need to prepare youths for future leadership roles.
“If youths are the future of a nation, then they must be tutored and adequately prepared to face the challenges involved in nation building. Future leadership must not be touted as mere slogan but
hey must be acquainted with what it takes to be a leader and that is what I have initiated today.
“This is our first outing in terms of reaching out to the young people and that is why we have chosen the senior secondary students for the programme. This is the first step, and we had about 150 students that we were able to accommodate in the maiden edition of the programme. As time goes on we would include artisans and traders in our training programme.
